At GNIT, the Information Technology Department is providing high quality training to students through the latest in Information Technology with advanced computer labs, teaching aids which meet the requirement of advanced technology. In order to maintain the standard of education, the Department constantly upgrades the academic procedures and strictly adhered with syllabi so as to keep the students well trained to deal with changing trends in the field of Information Technology. When computer and communications technologies are combined, the result is information technology. Apparently, when speaking of Information Technology (IT) as a whole, it is noted that the use of computers and information are associated.

The department has well-resourced labs and a full fledged departmental library. Some of the exclusive labs in the branch are UNIX lab, Computer Networks lab, Language Processing lab, Java lab and DBMS labs. These labs provide world-class combination of software tools, applications, suites and hardware equipment and platforms.

The Department repeatedly conducts a series of lectures by eminent academicians and professionals of the utmost reputation, which lay pressure on the most up-to-date inventive technologies in the field of Information Technology.
